Acted Canada

Welcome to Acted Canada, a proud part of the international Acted network, dedicated to innovative humanitarian and development initiatives.

Our mission is rooted in a commitment to serve the most vulnerable populations, integrating sustainable solutions into all of our work. In the Canadian civil society sphere, we are recognized for our dynamic participation and significant contributions to discussions on climate adaptation, humanitarian relief, and gender equity. By creating strategic partnerships and advocating for impactful policies, Acted Canada enhances the effectiveness of our global missions, embodying a spirit of innovation and a continuous drive for positive change.

Millions of vulnerable people around the world need humanitarian assistance today, and hundreds of millions will need it tomorrow, in the face of the growing threat of climate change. Our vision is guided by the motto “Think Local – Act Global” – reflecting the need to rely on a deep understanding of local territories and contexts to develop and implement actions based on local knowledge, structures and capacities. This local thinking contributes to a global response – running through all Acted programming and operations – as we work together towards the building of a 3ZERO world: a world with Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, and Zero Poverty.

We pursue a triple mandate as a humanitarian, environmental and development aid actor, contributing to the relief, stabilisation, and recovery of crisis-affected people in fragile areas.

Leading Change in Civil Society

Acted Canada is at the forefront of pivotal discussions on climate adaptation and food security, actively involved with networks such as C4D, contributing to national and international policies, and championing gender-responsive programming.

Working hard to progress dialogue, Acted Canada drives influential conversations on topics like climate adaptation, food security, and triple nexus within the civil society sector. Our active engagement with prominent networks, including C4D, FSPG and Cooperation Canada allows us to contribute significantly to both national and international policy-making processes. By championing gender-responsive programming, we are setting new precedents for inclusivity and equality within Acted. Our approach underscores the importance of policy and cooperation within the Canadian civil society sector.

Partnerships & Collaborations

Acted Canada understands that the synergy of collaborative partnerships is key to amplifying our impact. We extend a warm invitation to like-minded organizations, institutions, and dedicated individuals to join our alliance. By uniting our strengths, resources, and expertise, we can pioneer innovative solutions and create lasting change. Our collaborations are founded on the principles of mutual respect, shared goals, and the relentless pursuit of a world where sustainability and peace are not ideals but realities for all.

Let’s work together to turn this vision into action, shaping resilient communities and nurturing the health of our planet.
